Improvements to Recreation Ground
Weston Turville Parish Council
As you may have seen in the recent issues of the Weston Turville Times, various improvements and additions to the facilities at the recreation ground are planned and work is due to commence very soon. During this time there will be some disruption to your usual enjoyment of the fields but access will still be permitted with works areas fenced off for safety reasons.
New Path
Work on a new pathway encircling both fields will start on Monday 5th July - the far field (with the football pitches) will be completed first. The path will be made of self binding gravel so will be suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs as well as providing a safe (non muddy!) place to walk or run.
The excess soil which will result from these works will be used to create bundings around the grounds and including areas to add interest to the proposed wildflower meadow which will located to the far side of the tennis courts and will be planted once all other works are completed. If you would like to help design the wild flower meadow or to be involved in the project please contact the Clerk.
Children's Play area
A new children's play area will be installed and work will start on 19th July. Some of the old equipment (the toddler area) will be fenced off during this time but other pieces of equipment will be accessible. We apologise that the timing means the play area will not be completed in time for the start of the summer holidays but this is due to circumstances beyond our control.
Petanque
A new petanque court will be built near the tennis courts.
Skate Park and MUGA
We are still awaiting confirmation from the planning department at Bucks Council before work can begin on these new facilities, we hope to get a decision soon.
