The Parish Council is aware of residents’ concerns regarding HGV traffic through the village. As you know, the roads through the village form part of the public highway and as there are no weight restrictions in place, HGVs are permitted to use these roads. There is a freight strategy in place for Buckinghamshire which seeks to promote use of more appropriate routes for HGV traffic however this is guidance only. The Parish Council has been lobbying for a number of years for a weight restriction for the village, but to date this has not been taken up by Bucks Council.
If you have any photographic/video evidence of any of the following please would you email it to clerk@westonturville-pc.gov.uk:
• HGVs mounting kerbs
• passing trucks having to take evasive action
• damage caused by HGVs, eg rutting on the side of the road, scrapes on walls, buildings, damage to bollards (street furniture) etc
• any evidence of other detrimental impacts of HGV traffic, eg building surveys/reports

Some developments have traffic plans in place which exclude HGVs travelling to/from the site from using village roads and in these cases, Bucks Council’s planning enforcement team can take action. If you see any lorries travelling through the village to access a development site then please report this to the Planning Enforcement team via the online reporting tool. https://www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/.../report-a-breach/
